Georgia Travel Itinerary: Day 1
Upon you arrival, our guide and driver will meet you at Tbilisi International Airport and drive you to the hotel.
Mtskheta-Kutaisi: Day 2
After breakfast at the hotel, the driver and guide will take you to Mtskheta, the holy land of Georgia!
We will visit Jvari Monastery (built in the 6th century), located at the top of the hill, where the missionary, St Nino, erected a cross (“jvari” in Georgian) in the 4th century to mark the coming of Christianity to Georgia.
Next, we will head to the 11th-century Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, the coronation and burial site of Georgian kings. Most importantly, it is one of the holiest places in Georgia since the Robe of Christ is buried here. In addition, Svetitskoveli is one of the most beautiful cathedrals in Georgia, with exquisite carvings and frescoes.
Our tour also covers the nearby Samtavro Monastery on a small hill. After visiting these holy places, you will continue the trip to Kutaisi, where you will stay for two nights.
Prometheus Cave: Day 3 of Georgia Travel Itinerary
After breakfast, the day will begin with a stop at the picturesque Gelati Monastery, a monastic complex near Kutaisi. Hear the legends and stories about heroes defending their homeland before venturing to your next stop. Afterward, we will travel to the Motsameta Monastery, offering awe-inspiring views of the river and the surrounding countryside.
We will continue the day by visiting the Bagrati Cathedral, a masterpiece in the history of medieval Georgian architecture. Go to the Prometheus Cave complex. Kumistavi is the biggest cave in Georgia. After a pleasant and tiring trip, you will enjoy the local food in the restaurant.
We will drive back to the hotel later in the evening to rest and get ready for the following day.
Samegrelo-Batumi: Day 4
After breakfast, we will move to the Samegrelo region and visit a few sites and churches, including the Matrvili Monastery, nestled on the hill with breathtaking views of surrounding mountains and valleys. On the way to Batumi, we will stop by the Tsaishi Cathedral, one of the oldest cathedrals in Georgia, dated between the VI-VII centuries.
During the day, we will take a break for lunch. We will reach Batumi in the evening and spend there two nights.
Batumi-Tbilisi: Day 5
Our guide will pick you up in the morning for a walking tour around Batumi. You will stroll through the narrow streets of Batumi. You will also visit a couple of important churches, the cathedral, the old town, the Piazza, the Astronomical Clock, the Alphabet Tower, and much more! In the evening, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy the local seafood and Acharian Khachapuri! After all the activities, you will relax on the beach and experience the nightlife.
On the way back, you will see the Petra Castle, built in the 6th century A.D., and a medieval monastery complex in Ubisa. We will stop for lunch on the way to Tbilisi. In Tbilisi, you’ll have dinner before checking into the hotel for a night stay.
The End of Western Georgia Travel Itinerary: Day 6
Transfer to airport.
As per flight time, our guide will help you check out from the hotel, and you will then have some shopping time before the driver and the guide take you to Tbilisi International Airport.
