Svaneti Tour From Tbilisi
If you are looking for a destination that is off-the-beaten path, a Svaneti Tour is the perfect choice for you. Svaneti is an ancient landlocked region in the Caucasus, so remote that it was never tamed by any ruler. Uniquely picturesque villages and snow-covered, 5,000m-plus peaks rising above flower-strewn alpine meadows provide a superb backdrop to the many walking trails.
Svaneti’s emblem is the koshki (defensive stone tower), designed to house villagers during invasion. Around 175 towers, originally built between the 9th and 13th centuries, have survived to present day.
