Nestled in the northeastern part of western Georgia, the picturesque region of Racha boasts a rich tapestry of natural wonders. Located approximately 300 kilometers from the bustling city of Tbilisi, this land offers a captivating blend of colorful forests, serene lakes, and majestic mountains that evoke a sense of awe. 

The region is divided into three distinct areas: Lower Racha, Mountain Racha, and Upper Racha, each possessing its own unique character.

Lower Racha is renowned for its warm and hospitable people, delectable high-quality wine, verdant nature, and sparkling clear water. This region exudes a tranquility that invites visitors to relax and savor the simple pleasures of life. In contrast, Upper Racha presents breathtaking panoramic views, lofty villages, and picturesque vineyards. It is here that the renowned "Khvanchkara" wine, known for its exceptional quality, originates.

For adventure seekers, Mountain Racha, with its peaks reaching up to 3,800 meters above sea level, is a paradise for hiking and trekking enthusiasts. The rugged terrain and stunning vistas offer a challenging yet rewarding experience.

Discover Racha Tour Description

Our full-day tour begins at 08:00 AM from Tbilisi city. We aim to reach the enchanting Racha region by 12:00 PM.

Our first stop is the picturesque Nakerala Pass, situated at 1,200 meters above sea level. Immerse yourself in the beauty of its deciduous forests and intriguing subcutaneous limestones.

We'll take a half-hour break here before continuing our journey to Lake Shaori. The lake is the largest water reservoir in the region, covering an area of over 9 kilometers. We'll have another half-hour stop here to appreciate its serene beauty.

Continuing on our route, we'll soon arrive at the historic Nikortsminda Church. This 11th-century church boasts stunning decorations and is a testament to Georgian monumental plastic art. This is also where we'll have our lunchtime break.

After lunch, we'll proceed to the Barakoni Church, one of the last significant examples of old Georgian domed architecture in Racha.

Next, we'll visit the intriguing Sayinule Cave, featuring a frozen seabed and an exciting attraction for visitors.

From there, we'll make our way down to the Waterfall of Love, known for its unique heart shape. We'll take some time to enjoy the beauty of the falls before starting our return journey to Tbilisi.

We aim to arrive back in the city around 8:00 PM, concluding our full-day adventure in the Racha region.
