Juta Kazbegi Tour: Explore the High Mountains
Perched in the Kazbegi region, Juta is a village approximately 20 kilometers from the Stepatsminda village road. Located 2,200 meters above sea level, Juta is surrounded by natural beauty, including the famed Chaukhi mountain range (known as the Georgian Dolomites), rivers, and the spectacular Abudelauri lakes. The Juta Kazbegi Tour is available in spring, summer, and autumn.
One-Day Juta Tour
The tour commences at 08:00 AM from the city of Tbilisi. Our first destination is the observation deck Gudauri Panorama on the Georgian Military Highway. Here, we will spend approximately 20 minutes, ample time to admire the breathtaking scenery and capture memorable photos. The second stop is the village of Sno, where we will visit the historic Castle Sno. Dating back to the 17th century, the castle was reportedly owned by a nobleperson, Shiola Gudushauri.
After these sites, we will proceed to the village of Juta, where our hiking journey begins. The hiking trail spans approximately 8 kilometers, presenting mesmerizing panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. We will have a lunch break at a restaurant or opt for a picnic in the picturesque setting. The Juta Kazbegi tour continues as we head to the Abudelauri Lakes. Here, we will take a break to relax and capture stunning photos of the serene lakes.
Following our break at the lakes, we will return to the village of Sno and board our transport for the journey back to the city. We expect to return to Tbilisi in the evening, around 8:00 PM.
Two-Day Juta Tour
The tour begins at 10:00 AM from Tbilisi City. The first stop is at Jinvali Lake, where we will enjoy the breathtaking view for 15 minutes before continuing our journey. The second stop is at the Ananuri Church and Castle, a historical monument from the 16th to 17th centuries. We will spend approximately 15 minutes there.
The third stop is at Gudauri Resort, where we will have lunch and explore the scenic landscapes and panoramic views. Afterward, we will proceed to Juta Village. On the way, we will visit the 17th-century Sno Castle. Upon arriving at Juta Village, we will start a hiking tour. After hiking for approximately one and a half kilometers, we will reach the guest house-style hotel named Fifth Season or Zeta Banaki. We will check into the hotel, have dinner, and enjoy free time.
On the second day, around noon, we will check out from the hotel and continue our hiking trip to the famous Abudelauri Lakes. We will have free time to relax, take pictures, and enjoy the natural beauty of the lakes. Afterward, we will return to Juta Village and depart back to Tbilisi. Depending on the season, we might visit Mount Kazbegi and Gergeti Trinity Church in Kazbegi Village on the way back. The estimated arrival time in Tbilisi is around 8:00 PM.
